The Eastern Pennsylvania Scholarship Foundation (EPSF) of the Diocese of Allentown provides need-based scholarships to deserving students in diocesan and parish Catholic schools. The foundation, established in 2001, accepts donations from businesses that participate in Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit programs.
Bethlehem Catholic High School encourages all businesses to explore this great opportunity to turn state tax dollars into scholarships for our students. Once your company applies and is approved, just make your tax credit donation to EPSF and designate it for Bethlehem Catholic.
The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program allows you to do just that. The program pertains to any C-corporation or S-corporation authorized to do business in Pennsylvania that is subject to one or more of the following taxes:
Tax credits equal to 75% of your contribution, up to a maximum of $300,000 per taxable year, can be utilized. This can be increased to 90% of your contribution if your business agrees to provide the same amount for two consecutive tax years.
Please consider joining the following businesses that have supported BECAHI in the past through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program and the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program:

The EITC program offers a win, win, win situation! You get to support an institution that you love, get a charitable deduction and get a tax credit on certain state taxes. Please consider becoming an EITC donor.

Three Questions That Could Change A Student’s Life
The Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) program allows businesses to contribute to an opportunity scholarship organization (Bethlehem Catholic) to provide funding to eligible students who reside within the attendance boundaries of a low-achieving school who wish to transfer into a Diocesan school. A “low achieving school” is defined as a public elementary or secondary school ranking in the bottom 15 percent of its designation as an elementary or secondary school based on the combined math and reading scores on the most recent PSSA results available on the PA Department of Education’s (PDE) website.
Businesses can receive a state tax credit equal to 90 percent of their contribution to EPSF, as well as a charitable contribution deduction for federal income tax purposes. Why not give a student in a low-performing school district a chance for a better education?
Bethlehem Catholic has many students currently enrolled who can benefit from the OSTC program. And there are many more who have visited Becahi and are now waiting to enroll, in hopes of receiving OSTC scholarship money. This program gives students from under-performing schools the opportunity to receive a top notch education at Bethlehem Catholic! We need the support of your business to make this program a success.
