Mrs. Heather Maigur

Mrs. Heather Maigur grew up in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Warrington. She is the third child and oldest daughter of Rich and Sallie Theis, who have served as incredible models of faith and love throughout her life. Through her family and church, Mrs. Maigur came to learn about and love her Catholic faith, especially as she watched her parents dedicate countless hours to serving their parish community.

Mrs. Maigur attended St. Joseph/St. Robert School in Warminster, PA, along with her two older brothers and younger sister. After elementary school, Mrs. Maigur was grateful to continue her Catholic education at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School in Lower Gwynedd, PA. There, she had the opportunity to serve with the Community Service Core, the Pro-Life Club, and the Music Ministry. She was blessed to be both a participant and leader for Gwynedd’s Kairos retreats, and she also had the amazing opportunities of participating in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s service trips to Appalachia and the Navajo Reservation.

Mrs. Maigur further continued her Catholic education at the University of Scranton in Scranton, PA, where she was inspired by the University’s mission to become “men and women for others.” It was here, through Scranton’s Liturgical Music Group, that she was blessed to meet her wonderful husband, Greg. During her time at college, Mrs. Maigur double majored in English and Philosophy, with a minor in Human Services, and was a member of the SJLA and Honors Programs. She loved her work study job in the Collegiate Volunteers Office, helping to organize and connect fellow students with on-campus and community service opportunities. After graduation, Mrs. Maigur was blessed to visit the beautiful country of El Salvador through the University’s partnership with CRISPAZ (Christians for Peace in El Salvador), learning about the incredible bravery of Oscar Romero, the Jesuit martyrs, and the Salvadorian people during the country’s horrific civil war.

Upon graduating from the University of Scranton in 2002, Mrs. Maigur entered full-time ministry as the Cluster Youth Coordinator for four parishes in Pottstown, PA. There, she helped lead high school and junior high youth ministries for 4.5 years. She also began her Master’s degree in Systematic Theology at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. During that time, Mrs. Maigur married her college sweetheart and moved into St. Isidore Parish in Upper Bucks County, where she resides today.

When Mrs. Maigur and her husband began welcoming their five beautiful children, she left full-time ministry to focus on her growing family. She graduated with her Master’s degree from St. Charles in 2008, but continued to serve in parish ministry, helping to coordinate the St. Isidore Parish Moms Group.

In 2011, she began part-time ministry with the Allentown Diocese, helping to teach their Master Catechist certification classes for diocesan teachers. She and her husband also helped to prepare couples for the Sacrament of Matrimony through the Diocese’s Marriage Prep program. In 2018, Mrs. Maigur was very blessed to join the faculty of Bethlehem Catholic as a Sophomore and Junior Theology teacher. Over the years, she has also been fortunate to teach the elective Holocaust/World Religions class for juniors and seniors, through which Mrs. Maigur has developed a deep love of and passion for Holocaust and Genocide Studies. In 2023, she had the life-changing experience of participating in the Advanced Learning Seminar at Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum in Jerusalem.

Mrs. Maigur is now incredibly blessed to serve as the Assistant Director of Campus Ministry at Bethlehem Catholic, through which she has the great joy and mission of ministering to our wonderful students every day, coordinating school retreats and Bethlehem Catholic’s Agape Service Program, and hosting our beloved community in our beautiful Frassati Room. She is also now the proud mom of two Bethlehem Catholic graduates, two current students, and a future Golden Hawk.
